Manhattan Island Marathons Swim - (MIMS) Just two weeks away!

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

Only two weeks today until this years Manhattan Island Marathon Swim.

Both Chris and I are looking forward to participating for the third year runnning. Why keep going back some people ask? Because we love it is our reply.

Thank you to all the swimmers who send their positive comments to us regarding our website and our swimming reports. It really makes the time spent writing about our experiences of the swims we do worth while.

We write them as our personal experiences, but enjoy passing them on to inspire other swimmers and give tips and advice in relation to our experiences along the way.

Thank you also to Steve Munatones of  www.10kswimmer.com and Paul Ellercamp of  www.oceanswims.com for seeing the value in passing them on to other swimmers via their websites.

Toby’s 1st Birthday!

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

Here we are just two weeks prior to flying out to New York for this years Manhattan Island Marathon Swim on June 6th.

I have taken a break for the weekend and flown down to the Gold Coast Hinterland to spend the weekend with my son Marty, his wife Tabby, their son Toby and  Tabby’s parents. This weekend Toby will be having his first birthday.

I’m so happy that i was able to take a break from training and work to spend time with my family. Today we had a lovely day at the local dam and went for a picnic - fun.

Toby is into everything and just about ready to stop pulling the dinning chairs around the house and find out that he can let go and walk all by himself. Penny & grandson Toby for his 1st birthday
